Don’t love it when you grab a book off the library shelf in a hurry and it turns out to be a gem?  This is such a beautiful story of a little penguin’s dream coming true in a most unexpected way.  Pictures, words, character, story… such a perfect little find!

While I have many favourites, the tell-tale tattered pages of this book means it is near the top of the list.  Mid-winter and Bear is well and truly asleep.  On a cold, windy night, some forest critters take refuge in Bear’s lair.  A impromptu party ensues, but how does Bear react when he wakes up…?
