About
A Maple Tree in a Sunburnt Country
I came to Australia in 2003. Born and raised in Canada, I was looking for an escape from the cold and adventure in my last year of university, before I stepped into the grown-up world of teaching.
A Canadian at heart with maple syrup instead of blood, I never imagined that 20 years later, I would still be sweltering in the sauna that is otherwise known as Oz. This land down under has given me a loving husband, three lovely girls (and several sunburns I would rather forget). We live around the corner from the beach, on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, with our goofy mini dachshund, Gracie.
I wasn’t always a writer but have always been a reader and harboured a secret love for picture books. I am throwing light on that love as I embark on this journey of writing and publishing. There is nothing better than a group of children captivated by a good picture book or a snuggly toddler in your lap as you read the same book together for the hundredth time.
I write stories for children and I am always looking for the right people to turn my stories into beautiful books.
