We were over in Canada during the Christmas season and I picked this book up from my dad, who’s name is Bruce … and who is a Grump! I can’t help but smile every time I even think about this book.  It has all the elements of a great picture book:  simple language, clever story line, a surprise here and there and some really great play with words.

Incorporating effective humour into picture books is hard enough yet the laughs in this book manage to target both children and adults.  Parents can relate to the most basic premise that our children drive us bananas yet we love them more than anything!  Throw in quality illustrations in a beautiful hardcover format and this book quickly joined my list of favourites.  Don’t be a grump – find it and share a laugh with someone you love!
